Article writing and marketing is one of the greatest forms of advertising online today. In fact, the importance of article marketing has grown in the past years to become arguably the number one method of web-site promotion. Much of the success of article marketing is due to the existence of numerous article directories. These directories are essentially online websites that display content and they have become great places for internet marketers to promote their sites, for bloggers to gain free content, for webmasters to gain free content, and for readers to learn from experts on virtually every single topic imaginable. Assuming that you do all of your article directory submissions manually, your out of pocket costs will likely be close to zero.</p>
<p>In no time flat you can establish yourself as an expert on any subject that you happen to be knowledgeable on. Because article directories are voracious carnivores for quality content, they are always looking for fresh NEW content to add to their databases for their readers, webmasters, newsletter, and e-Zine publishers. Additionally, because article directories are full of keyword-rich content, they tend to rank well in search engines such as Google. Therefore, they are not surprisingly lightening rods for traffic and are seen by millions of people each and every day. You can easily take advantage of this traffic by simply writing and submitting articles to these directories. Its an excellent, low cost way to build credibility and to drive traffic to your website or blog.</p>
<p>When you submit your article to the directories you are allowed to include your URL in your signature. This URL ultimately becomes a backlink to your website. Backlinks are an important part of search engine optimization and the more back links to your site, the higher your search engine ranking and page rank will be. These links should link readers directly to your website, whether it be an online store or a content site. The more articles that you have distributed across the internet, the more links you will have. Search engines are looking increasingly towards the bigger article directories for use in their ranking methods, so writing articles is definitely a productive way to promote your site provided you include working links back to your site. But the back links included in your articles submissions are really just the first stop for your article. A large part of doing well in your article marketing is getting picked up by publishers with a large audience and gaining the ability of leveraging other brands because of the quality of your work.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, the article submission takes time and you don&#8217;t want to waste that time. Fortunately, article submission does not have to be done manually, site by site, which is particularly useful for people writing large numbers of articles and trying to get them onto a large number of sites. Belonging to ArticleMarketer or iSnare, for example, or other article submission services available online will greatly increase the number of articles you are able to submit as well the messages in your email box from the article directory owners. If you still want to maximize the number of directories you are able to submit your articles to but can not afford the fees of the article submission services you can always opt to purchase various article submission software programs. Unlike articles submission services, article submission software only entail a one time fee. Although articles submission software will certainly save you time, some article submission software is semi-automatic. This means that you will still have to click from one article directory to another to post while other, more expensive versions are fully automatic.</p>
<p>While article marketing provides you a simple and effective way to market your business, understand that the entire process involves an intricate web of individuals. The three main groups that make article marketing possible are the authors, the sites that are looking to publish, and the article directories themselves. Each relies on the other to uphold certain standards in order to maintain the credibility of the article marketing business. As everyone does their job and holds up their end of the bargain, the article marketing process will continue to function effectively.</p>

<p>What I&#8217;m doing with this article is article marketing. Besides having this article in an article directory, the search engines can also pick the article up so people may also find this without even going to the article directories. As with social media, provide valuable content. Don&#8217;t write an obvious or blatant commercial for your business, product or service. Usually at the end of the article or in your biography, you&#8217;ll be able to have links to your blog or website and contact information according to the different directory practices. Article marketing is valuable because it builds your online presence as well, establishing you as an expert and helps builds links to your sites.</p>
<p>One of the biggest hurdles for Internet Marketers to over come is writer&#8217;s block. They worry about what to write. Remember, the articles do not have to always be about the product or service industry that you are trying to market. Write about topics you are already interested in and are knowledgeable in. Look at an article online, in newspapers, or magazines and retell it. Don&#8217;t copy but retell the article as if to a friend.</p>
<p>Joe Vitale in his book <em>Hypnotic Writing</em>, recommends turning down the screen light so you cannot read what you&#8217;re writing. Just type and keep going until you&#8217;ve told all there is to tell as if to a friend. THEN go back and correct the mistakes. I was surprised at how much faster I wrote and how little mistakes there were. Of course there were typos, spelling mistakes and grammatical mistakes, but they were easily corrected. Getting started was always the hard part.</p>
<p>I recommend writing around five hundred words, but they can be as little as four hundred words. Article with more than five hundred words are more likely to be accepted by article directories with higher standards. I don&#8217;t recommend writing more than eight hundred word articles. There&#8217;s nothing wrong with it, but people&#8217;s attention spans on the Internet is short. You don&#8217;t want to bore them. If you have an article that is eight hundred words, think about splitting it into two articles.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget about formatting. Keep the paragraphs short for easy reading. Would you be inclined to read this article if it were one whole paragraph? Again, remember people have short attention spans and especially on the Internet.</p>
<p>Short lists with descriptions are easily read. &#8220;How To&#8221; articles are very popular and helpful for readers. Always provide valuable content and information. Mike Koenig recommends in video marketing topics such as &#8220;What are the top ten questions you&#8217;ve been asked about your business?&#8221; and &#8220;What are the top ten questions people should ask about your business?&#8221; These could be valuable topics if done right. Remember you want to give content, not make an advertisement. The more valuable the content you give, the more respected you will become, and people will seek you out.</p>
<p>Finally, do not give up too soon. If your article is rejected, learn from the recommendations the editors give you. They are there to help you and want you to succeed. A rejected article can become your best article if you don&#8217;t give up. Go back and make it better. Remember this is not school. Learn from your mistakes. You&#8217;re not going to get a bad grade, you&#8217;re getting help. Successful article marketing doesn&#8217;t happen overnight. Keep on writing and be consistent. You&#8217;re articles will stay out there working for you every day. The more quality articles you have the greater the impact you&#8217;ll have for your business.</p>

<p>What is the key to success with article marketing outsourcing? In my opinion, there are a few things you can do to improve your results. The purpose of this article is to share my favorite three outsourcing tips. But before we dive too deep into that, I want to review why you should consider outsourcing your article writing and distribution.</p>
<p>If you are like most entrepreneurs, you are busy. You only have so much time in a day. And you need to spend a majority of your efforts focusing on the most productive tasks. One of the easiest ways to free up some of your time is to outsource or delegate. Although some entrepreneurs want to do it all themselves, the most successful ones have other people help them.</p>
<p>That being said, here are my favorite three outsourcing tips.</p>
<p><strong>#1: Develop a Game-Plan</strong> &#8211; Before you outsource your first article, you need a game-plan. At a minimum, your game-plan should cover which keywords you want to focus on. You should also have a theme for your articles and know which pages on your website you want your articles to promote. It&#8217;s best to spend an hour or two and write down your long-term and short-term game-plan. Identify everything you want to accomplish and create action steps to guide you along the way. It&#8217;s also good to establish a timeline on when you want things done.</p>
<p><strong>#2: Try Out Several Different Authors</strong> &#8211; I think it&#8217;s a wise idea to shop around. Let&#8217;s face it. It&#8217;s hard to find good writers at a reasonable price. I think it&#8217;s a better idea to hire 5-20 different authors, rather than 1 author to do all your projects. That way you can evaluate each person&#8217;s progress and find the writer you are most comfortable with. Once you find a good writer, you can hire them for most of your future projects.</p>
<p><strong>#3: Monitor and Spot-Check Their Results</strong> &#8211; You must spot check. If you are having someone upload your articles to article directories for you, make sure you check their work. Check out the links, the articles, the spelling and the content. Make sure they did what they said they were going to do. Hopefully, you will find someone who does what you paid them to do. But, if you don&#8217;t check you will never know if someone is really doing their job.</p>
<p>By following the three steps mentioned above, you will get better results with your article marketing outsourcing. Remember, things don&#8217;t need to be perfect. Good enough is good enough. Article marketing outsourcing is a wise idea, especially for the busy entrepreneur who has lots of projects going on at the same time.</p>
